There are many attractions, events and places of interest in the area that can be found at The Stow-on-the-Wold Tourist Information Centre, including:


Blenheim Palace, a World Heritage Site, is just a 30 minute drive from the Unicorn, and is considered to be one of the finest country homes in the UK. The Palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, and is considered to be a masterpiece of 18th century Baroque architecture, set in over 2,000 acres of parkland and formal gardens.

There is a dedicated family area that offers a giant hedge maze, butterfly house, and adventure playground and there are tours, exhibitions, and numerous events on offer at the Palace.


A 35 minute drive from the Unicorn is Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town with more than 800 years of history.

The birthplace of William Shakespeare and the home of the Royal Shakespeare company.


Listed under ‘Walk with the Financial Times route No. 19,’ this 6 mile circular walk captures some of the most beautiful scenery in the Cotswolds. The starting point for this walk is just a short 10 minute drive from the Unicorn.


A 20 minute drive away from The Unicorn, the Theatre at Chipping Norton is a fantastic place to spend an evening.


At the Organic Food Company in Cirencester, a 20 minute drive from the Unicorn, resident cheesemaker Clive Curtis demonstrates how to make “Dancy’s Fancy”, a semisoft cheese made with milk from the farm’s own herd of shorthorn cattle. After making your cheese, it’s left onsite to mature for two weeks. You can then collect it or it can be posted to you.
